How did you two meet or how did he propose?:
Laci and Kevin met in 2011 when Laci was “visiting” her cousin Holly in Atlanta, GA. The word visiting is in quotes due to the fact that the whole visit was a set up organized by her cousin and mom in hopes Laci would meet this southern gentleman and see that there are in fact, good guys out there. Let’s rewind back just a little bit and go over some key factors in this set up. Holly (Laci’s cousin) had met Kevin through her husband, Jason who happened to work with Kevin. One day Jason left his phone at home which led to Holly meeting Jason at a lunch he was at with his co-workers. After a few minutes of talking with Kevin, Holly said to him, “you should meet my cousin Laci, you two have the same exact personality.” Apparently they shared the same wittiness and sense of humor. After Holly showed Kevin a picture of Laci, the plan was in action. After Laci and Kevin’s first encounter of one another at her cousin’s house and hours spent looking at animal videos on YouTube, they knew they had something…something real. They spent the whole weekend together (Six Flags and just getting to know one another) and knew they eventually had to say goodbye. The day after Laci arrived back to Arizona, Kevin bought her a plane ticket to visit him two weeks later.

1.5 years of long distance dating, 1 year of living in downtown Indianapolis together, 1 year of living in Scottsdale together and 1 year of living in their first home together in Cave Creek; 4 different locations and 4.5 years together, Kevin proposed. He took Laci on a weekend getaway to California and surprised her with a trip to Six Flags (location of first date). After a long day of excitement and adventure at Six Flags, Kevin had champagne waiting on their balcony overlooking the ocean. Due to the fact of Laci’s stubbornness, he had to find a way to lure her outside to the balcony so he could propose. “There’s a fire on the ocean…come look!” As soon as Laci walked out to the balcony, Kevin was there on one knee and asked her to spend the rest of her life with him (and pepper, their rabbit).

2. How did you find your venue? Were you happy with it?
I visited McDowell Mountain Golf Club first and wasn't in love with the ceremony backdrop as I wanted it to have more of a mountain view and that's when I was told about their sister company, Eagle Mountain Golf Club. As soon as I visited Eagle Mountain, it was love at first site and everything I dreamed of. The two trees that make the perfect arch in the ceremony location really sold me. The whole planning process was simple and breezy—Gina was an absolute gem to work with. She knew the in’s out and outs of everything and made our day SO special. One part that stood out the most was when Gina had golf carts waiting for us after our ceremony with our signature drinks and food waiting for us, ready to take us on an adventure through the “secret” golf course to take AMAZING photos. It was such a special moment for both Kevin and I, as we had just said “I do” and got to go off together as husband and wife in the beautiful mountains/golf course of Fountain Hills.

3. Describe the theme or color scheme of your wedding, and what you chose for your table setting at the reception:
The theme was vintage romance and the colors were blush, gold and cream. For the table setting, I wanted to keep it simple and chic; I chose a mixture of gold and silver metallic mercury candles along with vases filled with the most beautiful floral arrangements in shades of blush and cream flowers with eucalyptus leaves for the perfect touch of greenery. The table place cards were white with gold glitter on the scalloped edges with the names hand-written (calligraphy) done by yours truly. To match the place cards, the table numbers were gold acrylic and added just the right pop of metallic to the table. To keep the bride and grooms table different, I added a gold, brass rabbit for table décor along with a Mr. and Mrs. Sign hung across the front of the table. As mentioned earlier, Kevin and I have a beautiful mini-rex rabbit named Pepper which is why we included rabbit décor in our wedding. At our dessert table, I used white stone bunny place card holders with gold paws to hold the dessert signs—compliments of BHLDN. Our wedding was truly a vision and turned out to be better than I ever expected.

4. What piece of advice would you give other brides planning their big day?
Listen to your heart and do what makes YOU and your fiancée happy. Don't let others interfere with your big day because after all, it is your day! Make sure to truly live in the moment and enjoy the planning process because you only get to do it once. Share the special moment with your fiancée and be sure to include him in parts of the planning process as it makes it fun and memorable! Soak it up; it's a beautiful time!

<? if (file_exists($DOCUMENT_ROOT."/includes/footer-weddings.php")) { include_once($DOCUMENT_ROOT."/includes/footer-weddings.php"); } else { header("location: /error.php"); } ?>
