How did you two meet or how did he propose?:
Blake and I are high school sweethearts and had been together for almost eight years when he proposed. Blake was out of town for a work trip so my friend came over to take me out for lunch. Before we left, she pulled up a video on our T.V. and there was Blake. He had recorded a video describing our relationship over the last seven years and the moment he knew I was the one. At the end of the video, he said that my friend would be taking me somewhere so I should finish getting ready. After about two hours of driving to an unknown location I saw a sign that said, “Welcome to Sedona.” I was so surprised! I had lived in Arizona my whole life without ever seeing Sedona and I had told Blake how much I wanted to see the beautiful red rock. When we finally pulled into the park the first thing I saw was my little sister. She was holding a sign that said “year one” with a bunch of pictures of Blake and I from our first year of dating. She handed me a letter from Blake that he had written describing that first year of being together and all of the memories we had made. My sister told me to keep walking along the path and that I would find six more stops. Blake had created seven stops for every year we had been together. Each stop had members of our family with more pictures and letters representing that year of dating. As I turned the corner to the seventh and last stop I saw my brother in his Air Force uniform. I immediately lost it. I hadn’t seen him in months and knew how difficult it was for him to take time off to be here for this moment. After hugging him for what seemed like hours, he took me by the arm and asked if he could walk me out to my future husband. Blake was standing in the middle of an open field with the biggest smile on his face. With our family surrounding us, and a crowd of hikers standing nearby, he asked me to be his wife. The best part of all, he had hired a photographer to capture the whole thing. It is a moment we will always remember.

2. Were you happy with the venue?:
We could not be happier with The Paseo. Blake and I knew the moment we toured the venue that this is where we had to get married. The views are indescribable and the layout is perfect. The reception barn is stunning and we loved that we could put our own touch on the décor to make it ours. The best part of The Paseo is the staff. Kelsea and Kayla are so inviting and helpful and you can feel how much they love what they do. I would recommend this venue to any bride who is planning their wedding!

3. Describe the theme or color scheme of your wedding, and what you chose for your table setting at the reception:
We would describe our wedding as ethereal and organic. The venue is so stunning and we wanted to compliment its natural beauty instead of taking away from it. Our colors were a mixture of blush, blue-gray and gold. For the table settings we wanted something that was simple yet elegant. The head tables were 10-foot farm tables that we rented from Scottsdale Farm Tables. They were gorgeous! We lined them with Eucalyptus garland that had touches of white roses and gold votives throughout to bring a romantic aspect to the tables. Each setting included two white plates with an organic gauze napkin spilling from the sides and gold flatware. We also had our guests’ names in white calligraphy on stone tiles. Our round tables had a beautiful mixture of blush and green florals in gold mercury compotes.

4. What piece of advice would you give other brides planning their big day?
I would tell brides who are planning their wedding to make sure they don’t let outside opinions affect their decisions. Everyone is going to have a way of doing something and it may not reflect what you and your fiancé want to do. And that is okay. This day is about you two and to celebrate you as a couple. You want to look back at your wedding and know that it was exactly what you envisioned and not what other people wanted.

<? if (file_exists($DOCUMENT_ROOT."/includes/footer-weddings.php")) { include_once($DOCUMENT_ROOT."/includes/footer-weddings.php"); } else { header("location: /error.php"); } ?>
