We are both Disney crazy! After beginning our relationship in January 2010, we started to plan our first vacation to Disneyland! It was one of the best trips of our lives. So, we made a promise that we would go to Disneyland every year.

I always hinted to him how magical it would be to be proposed to in front of Sleeping Beauty's Castle. In January of 2012, he mentioned he wanted to go back to Disneyland for my birthday. In the back of my mind, I wondered if this was going to be the big proposal trip! But then he mentioned how tight money was, and he wanted to get the right ring.

On our first day in the park, we ran into an old friend who works at the park. She was a photographer for the photo-pass program. She asked for a favor, she needed several "park pictures". She asked if Sam and I would do a photo shoot. I reassured Sam it would not take too long and would be really fun. He reluctantly agreed, pictures are not his favorite thing. She lead us over to Sleeping Beauty's Castle and started taking photos of us. She asked me to lay my head on his chest and I heard Sam's heart racing. My heart started doing backflips and my stomach turned into a butterfly garden. This was it! How did I not catch on to his sneaky plan? By the time I looked up at him, he grabbed my hands and started telling me how much he loved me. I don't remember much after this, except that I couldn't stop crying, people were watching us, and the love of my life was on his knee asking me to marry him. My dream had come true! I finally said yes, he pulled out the most stunning ring and slipped it on my finger. I was in complete awe. This was in front of a crowd and it was all caught on film. He did good, I mean, really good. My friend was there to capture the moment and I will forever cherish those pictures. I got proposed to in front of Sleeping Beauty's Castle at the happiest place on earth. I finally realized that I was going to marry my Prince Charming, and that he wanted me to be his forever.

Tell us about your venue.
Sam and I ventured up to Fountain Hills one day just to look around and see if it would work for a wedding ceremony. We never really thought about having the reception up there, more so just the ceremony in front of the fountain since it is so gorgeous up there. We ended up going to the Holiday Inn across the street to check out room rates in case we ended up wanting to stay up there. That was when we met Gary. One of the NICEST and most helpful people we had ever met. He informed us that the hotel was equipped to host a lovely wedding reception and that they could work within our budget. We were hooked! We decided to have our ceremony at Fountain Hills Park in front of the world famous fountain, then we were going to head across the street to have a fun reception! It was PERFECT. Everything was so close together. We were able to enjoy the amazing weather outside for the ceremony and then go to the hotel for some fun party time! As part of our package, we were able to get a suite for getting ready in (which the boys took advantage of) and we were also given a 2 night stay in the honeymoon room suite (which the gals and I used for getting ready). That really helped us out as far as preparations for the big day. Everyone was able to get ready right next to the ceremony site. We were also given a discount for anyone who wanted to stay at the hotel from our guest list.. The best part? Everything was SO affordable! Gary worked with us every step of the way to make sure that our wishes were granted, while still staying within our budget. Also, all the linens were included as well! Gary made sure to match them to our colors too. I don't know anyone else who would do so much to make sure your day was perfect.

Describe the theme or color scheme of your wedding, and what you chose for your table setting at the reception?
Our colors were lapis and canary. Very spring like colors! Sam actually played a huge part in picking out the colors. I wanted to make sure he knew that this was his day too, and that I wasn not going to make him wear a color he did not like. All the bridesmaids were in lapis. The groomsmen wore black dress pants, white long sleeve shirt, a gray vest, and lapis ties. My matron of honor was dressed in canary, as well as the best man had a canary tie. I wanted them to stand out a little more. Sam wore black pants, white long sleeved shirt, grey suit and a black coat. I wore a ball gown that looked close to a Disney princess dress. I accented my dress with simple, elegant pearls. Nothing too fancy. I wanted the dress to stand out, which I think it did! Our table setting had a statue of Princess Aurora and Prince Phillip (from Sleeping Beauty) on it, along with candles and clear marbles. So fairy tale like, and I loved it! The other table decorations were very simple, yet pretty. They consisted of a candle plate covered in clear marbles with a color changing candle in the middle.

What piece of advice would you give other brides planning their big day?
Relax! Remember to enjoy every second of the day. It literally flies by. Also, remember that something will go wrong. But that is okay, it won't be the end of the world. Apparently our tent kept falling down and wouldn't stay up. But guess what? No big deal. The day is not about the flowers or the cake or the guest book. It is about marrying the love of your life. As long as you remember that, everything will be perfect!

<? if (file_exists($DOCUMENT_ROOT."/includes/footer-weddings.php")) { include_once($DOCUMENT_ROOT."/includes/footer-weddings.php"); } else { header("location: /error.php"); } ?>
