I was SO excited for a retreat up in Williams, AZ. It would be a great way to kick off summer vacation and this was the place Blake and I met last year! I knew Blake had a lot on his mind since he had planned the retreat so I didn't suspect a thing! Later that Friday night Blake had pulled me aside and we got to chat a bit. He began to unzip his backpack and pull out an envelope. He got this smile on his face and began to tell me how he had handwritten 100 reasons why he loved me! He read them to me and I just melted away in my seat! After reading this list of 25 reasons he stopped and told me he would share more reasons on his lists throughout the weekend! The following day he whisked me away when we had some free time at camp. It meant so much to have him be so intentional with his time and showing how much he loved me, even when he was busy leading the retreat! On Sunday afternoon (the last day of the retreat), the whole camp got packed up to head down to Phoenix except for us. We had stayed behind to be sure everything was cleaned up... or at least that is what I thought! Before loading up the car Blake had wanted to read his final list to me before we left. We conveniently found two chairs on the porch of the building we first met overlooking the camp and mountains. It was absolutely beautiful that day! He pulled out that last white envelope from his backpack and began reading that handwritten list to me. The last couple read...
97. Thinking about our future together
98. That she is completely reliable
99. When we went ring shopping and found that beautiful ring setting
Then he starts to reach inside his pocket to pull out the ring as he tells me number 100. "The look on your face when I pull out that ring and ask you to marry me." At this point he is on one knee and the ring flips out of the box bouncing across the concrete porch! With tears in my eyes and laughter in the air, I gave him a big kiss and hug! Realizing he was still waiting for an answer, I said yes, yes YES!!!

Tell us about your venue.
We were drawn to Gainey Ranch Golf Club because of their beautiful outdoor venue, seating capacity and central location which was key for so many out of town guests. You can either choose to face the mountains or a gorgeous pond for the ceremony background. Gainey Ranch Golf Club provided trusted vendors at reasonable prices whom they had worked with over the years which I was very pleased with.

Describe the theme or color scheme of your wedding, and what you chose for your table setting at the reception.
I had wanted a contemporary style with a bit of flair so I decided to go with black and white with a hint of apple green. I had three different centerpieces for our reception. Some tables had 3 tall hurricane glasses at various heights with a stem of orchids filled with water topped with a floating candle. Other tables had a tall hurricane glass filled with curly willow and orchid blossoms and hydrangeas. This centerpiece added height but still allowed guests to chat without a huge obstruction in their way. The last centerpiece found at other tables were low hydrangea floral arrangements surrounded by votives at various heights. All tables also had damask runners which is also the print I used sparingly in invitations and personalized details. I also had black chair covers tied with a white satin sash. The ceiling was draped with white chiffon and lights starting in the middle and was carried out to the corners of the room. The variety in mix & matched centerpieces, chair covers, and ceiling draping created a formal yet soft and romantic atmosphere. I could not have done it without Char Frank with Decor by Char who turned a dream wedding into a reality!

What is one piece of advice would you give other Brides planning their big day?
My advice to you is to enjoy every single moment of this process! Planning a wedding can be daunting! No matter how much goes or doesn't go according to plan, your wedding day will be absolutely BEAUTIFUL because the two of you are committing to love each other for life. Keep perspective of why you are planning your wedding and everything will fall into place.

<?php if (file_exists($DOCUMENT_ROOT."/includes/footer-weddings.php")) { include_once($DOCUMENT_ROOT."/includes/footer-weddings.php"); } else { header("location: /error.php"); } ?>
