My family had moved from the Philadelphia area to Scottsdale, Arizona, and I was spending the summer in Arizona before returning to the University of Pittsburgh. A mutual friend thought that Adam and I would be perfect together, and she was right! We fell in love immediately and after a year of long distance, and 5 more years of dating, Adam proposed. It was Labor Day weekend, and Adam suggested we escape the heat by taking a trip to Sedona. On the trip up North, Adam stopped at Oak Creek Canyon and among it’s natural splendor, dropped down on one knee and presented me with a beautiful diamond and rose gold engagement ring. We set the date immediately, deciding to get married a year from the day that he proposed.<br /> <br /> When researching venues for our wedding celebration, it was clear that the Ritz-Carlton, Phoenix was the place for us. The staff assured that we felt valued and comfortable. I was drawn to the regal and luxurious décor, which had an aesthetic that reminded me of the exclusive hotels in Philadelphia and New York City that I had dreamed of getting married at as a little girl. The Ritz-Carlton blends old world elegance with the contemporary area of Phoenix.<br /> <br /> After booking with The Ritz-Carlton, Phoenix, we were introduced to our Wedding Coordinator, Camila Frederico. She was extraordinary and our dream weaver, making all that we created in our heads come to life in the most magical way. We went with the classic tablescape of white on white linens, using The Ritz-Carlton rich, cobalt blue show china and signature water glasses as our pop of color. We wanted the room to be bathed in amber candlelight, so we used gold candelabras dripping with crystals as the centerpieces. Beautiful gobos reminiscent of forest trees added a touch of whimsy. <br /> <br /> Cocktail hour began with passed appetizers. Drinks flowed freely and a champagne toast marked the beginning of a great party. The plated dinner presentation was beautiful. People raved about the meals, saying that they were at the culinary level of the finest restaurants. Our guests also enjoyed staying at the property for a weekend retreat. Camila assured that we were well taken care of throughout our stay, throwing in signature Ritz-Carlton “extras” that made our weekend spectacular and so exceptional.<br /> <br /> When we look back at our wedding, we could not have imagined having it anywhere but The Ritz-Carlton, Phoenix.
